A United Voice

Participant Council

The Participant Council serves as a united voice for the adults with intellectual disability involved in Summer Street programs. The participant council team ensures that staff, management and the board of directors understand their priorities. They were instrumental in developing a Bill of Rights and meet annually with the Society Board to review and assess how successfully the organization is achieving their goals. Council members are spokespersons across the province and participate in strategic planning events and policy development. They are also behind events such as the Gala and Awards Night.
