Donors

In the words of Executive Director, Bob Bennett, “Donors make the difference between doing really cool things or simply managing to get by and provide a service.”

Like everything related to Summer Street, donors and donations come in many forms.

Since 1994 the Golf Scramble has been our major annual fundraiser. To-date the one day event has raised over three million dollars!

In 2017, New Glasgow’s, Matheson family made a substantial in-memoriam gift when they donated their parent’s family home.

Bill O’Farrell wanted to make sure the happiness he witnessed at Summer Street continued. So, when he began to think about his legacy he donated bank stock that saw significant gain when transferred.

Golf pledges, homes, vehicles, legacy gifts, guitars, gently-worn clothing and monetary donations of all sizes add up to exceptional facilities and programs. More importantly, they help create opportunity for people with intellectual disability. They help open minds and create change.

We also owe gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers who have donated their time, skills and expertise for over 50 years.
