Summer Street Farm Project Update – August 1, 2025
The Summer Street Farm is entering its final phase of construction, and we’re thrilled to share that we are on track to be operational this fall!
This milestone marks an exciting step toward turning our vision into reality, a vision that came directly from our participants. When we first asked them what they wanted this farm to accomplish, their answers were simple, heartfelt, and powerful:
An Inclusive Agriculture Initiative
The Summer Street Farm is more than just a hydroponic growing facility — it’s an inclusive agriculture initiative designed to create opportunities for our participants, community partners, and agri-entrepreneurs. Through hands-on growing, learning, and employment, we’re building a space where people of all abilities can contribute, gain skills, and feel the pride of producing something that makes a real difference.
What’s Next?
With construction nearing completion, we’re turning our focus to the people who will make this farm thrive. We’ll soon be hiring for agricultural roles, including a full-time Agricultural Technician, to help lead our first active growing season. These positions will play a vital role in turning seedlings into harvests, and ideas into impact.
Looking Ahead
This project has been a true community effort, fueled by the support of our partners, staff, and participants. As we prepare to open our doors, we can’t wait to welcome you to Summer Street Farm to see the space, meet the people, and share in the excitement of what we’re growing together.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks, and thank you for being part of this journey with us.
